THOMAS, Chauntel
Artist Bio:
Chauntel Thomas has held a love for fine art and craft for most of her life, learning crochet at her grandmother’s knee and continuing through secondary school and eventually the fine arts programme at the Barbados Community College (BCC). In more recent years, art has been a hobby with multiple outlets spanning the visual arts in acrylics and oils on canvas, mixed media textile work and photography. It 2018 she was awarded two silver medals for her crochet textile work at the National Independence Festival of Creative arts (NIFCA). Chauntel has also for many years supported the arts administratively as an employee of the BIDC where she provided support form a number of craft persons to monetise their products and establish small businesses.
